BEMP Students Present to Senator Udall

Senator Udall hosted an information session about water sustainability and innovation in New Mexico on May 2nd.  He invited BEMP students from Bosque School and Rio Rancho HS to speak about their experiences researching and stewarding the bosque ecosystem. Students did a phenomenal job of giving poised and articulate presentations to Sen. Udall. Here’s a link to the press release from Sen. Udall’s office.

Grace and Lauren (Bosque School Class of 2021) said during their presentation: “When we first started giving presentations we would stutter a lot and not have much confidence. This project [wrapping cages around cottonwood trees in the bosque to protect them from beaver herbivory] has helped us gain more knowledge and we are better people because this project has changed both of us in a positive way and we are so glad we have done it.”
