Tingley Beach and the Albuquerque Overbank Project highlight the mosaic nature of the bosque!
BEMP partnered with Natural Heritage New Mexico, the Bureau of Reclamation and the Army Corps of Engineers to show land managers two local examples of ecological mosaics on the landscape. Folks met at the Education Annex of the Aquarium/Botanic Gardens courtyard before heading to both sites. Dr. Esteban Muldavin (Natural Heritage NM) and Nancy Umbreit (BoR) led the Albuquerque Overbank Project (AOP) site tour. Dr. Kim Eichhorst (BEMP) and Ondrea Hummel (USACE) focused on the City of Albuquerque’s Tingley ponds area.
